We are proud of the quality built into and maintained in our
product. With over 30 thousand users and hundreds of new
users each month --- in 2008, only 6 bugs were
reported by our users.
The list of bug reports below also shows bugs we have found ourselves.
Early in 2008 we found and fixed 3 bugs in 8.2 having to do with the
user interface on MacOS.
We are equally proud of our support and response. When a
bug is reported it becomes our top priority to fix it ASAP.
In the list of reported bugs below you will notice all of them are fixed.
Sometimes, for a brief period, a bug will be tracked with the Status of
"OPEN". 99% of the time we fix bug reports within 2 days and when we post the
new bug report to the list, the fix is already available.
The Status will indicate the BugFix build in cases when
the fix is available - but not in the released/download
build.

To upgrade to the latest Guiffy BugFix build,
download the Guiffy.jar using either the ftp or http link below.
Then, replace the Guiffy.jar in your Guiffy install folder with the downloaded latest build.

HOW TO REPORT A BUG:
If you have found
a Bug in Guiffy, let us know - so we can fix it. Please send an
email describing the problem to Include the following information when reporting the
bug:
> The Release and Build number of Guiffy (from the
About window)
> Your Platform and the JRE Guiffy is using
> A description of the problem and how to make it
happen
> If it would help, attach example files to compare
or merge
> Perhaps, attach a screenshot that shows us the
problem

a CONFUSED Warning - we have to do the merge manually.

seem to lock the files. We can't edit and Save the file (in another application)
without exiting Guiffy.

we see a Warning "Do you want to save the merge file with Attentions which will be marked?".
But, all the Attentions have been resolved.

on Linux: In the folder compare view, double-click on a file (that
is a link) doesn't work. Instead of running the file comnpare
view, it asks whether to do a new folder compare.

on any platform: After viewing my Ignore options (with Regular Expressions),
And hitting cancel in the dialog, And then saving my settings...
File and folder compares abort with NPE (Null Pointer Exception).
STATUS: FIXED in
Release 8.4(Build 244).
WORKAROUND: Disable your regular expressions, Hit OK in the dialog,
Re-enter the dialog, Enable your regular expressions,
Hit OK in dialog, Re-Save your Settings.
Now, file and folder compares will run.

on any platform: When I compare 2 of my larger files, the compare
screens are blank. The debug log shows a Null Pointer Exception
in Jiffy.

8.2/Build 234 on MacOS: The Edit shortcuts (Command-C, Command-V,
and Command-X) don't work properly. The Copy includes line numbers
in the clipboard text.
WORKAROUND: The Edit Menu commands work
correctly (only the keyboard shortcuts have this problem).
